NetWhere™ is a real time utility that allows a user to determine what is connected to their switch / router. Using SNMP, Netwhere™ interrogates any SNMP enabled devices on the network and indicates which switch port they are connected to. Netwhere™ will also discover each switch, all their interfaces and the MAC addresses associated with those interfaces and, on discovering the router, it will associate each switch interface and MAC address with an IP address. Information contained within Netwhere™ is exportable to other applications in the form of CSV files. Maximising LAN infrastructure by discovering unused switch capacity, Netwhere™ allows you to search by whichever data you know to discover any other data associated with the device.

The Benefits

- No new technical training required.
- Ability to search for and view the association between multiple diverse technical elements such as IP
address, MAC address, switch interface, server name, etc.
- Ability for engineering teams to take snapshots of connected devices before and after engineering work
to ensure full restoral of services.
- Facilitates more effective communication between technical support teams.
- Customer fault times reduced and availability increased.
- Ability to identify capacity issues in the switch infrastructure.
- Ability to identify security issues in the switch infrastructure.

The ability to coherently link all this disparate technical data together allows for improved communication between technical and operational departments, savings due to accurate capacity management and increased availability due to reduced time-to-resolution of faults.
